Challenge

This homeowner was experiencing leakage in their garage roof.  They had a few shingles replaced prior to our inspection of the roof.  What they had thought is that a squirrel was possibly destroying the roof by burrowing to get in and out of the attic.  What we found was not only evidence of that being a possibility, but a few other issues in that same area.

Solution

To fix this issue for the homeowner, we tore off the existing shingles in the valley section up to the chimney.  We replaced a section of wood that had visible deterioration and large holes.  We then covered it with new ice and water shield, added new baby tins as well as flashing around the chimney.
