Just a short while ago, Illinois experienced a tremendous amount of snow fall. For kids, this was a winterland full of opportunities for snowball fights, snow forts, sledding, and an excuse for some more hot chocolate. For their parents and other homeowners, this amount of snow in such a short period can be worrisome. When too much snow covers a house, a few things can occur. Too much snow couold be too much weight stressed onto the structure of the home. Additionally, you run the risk of ice damns. Throughout this week, homeowners have been calling us in to rake the excess snow off their roofs. It's been a rush with all these calls, but we know just how important it is to remove the snow safely and quickly.
