Challenge This apartment/condo building needed a new roof. As our crew was completing the tear off, they discovered that the boards were almost all rotted and delaminated. Solution The crew carefully removed all of the bad boards and checked the structure underneath for possibly more rot.

Challenge The homeowner had wind damage to the roof that was causing leaks below.  Our team discovered that there was more than just a few leaks that needed repair.   Solution We completed a temporary repair for the home until we were able to complete a full tear off and replacement.

Challenge When the roof is too badly damaged, small repairs will only go so far.  Solution When the damage is too great, consider replacing your roof. 

Challenge Prices are rising in the roofing industry as some materials, and as certain materials are becoming harder to get a hold of, jobs are having to wait longer to start. This homeowner had a 15-year-old roof, and he thought it was time for a new one.

Challenge This project had the obstacle of removing damaged sheathing from under the shingles. Having good solid roof sheathing is important. It helps to bear the weight not only of the shingles, but the snow and ice. Sheathing helps redristubute weight more evenly.

Three of our Project Consultants attended a training event for Malarkey Roofing products in Schaumburg this week. Malarkey Roofing Products are new to the Stan's Roofing and Siding team. Their products are virtually indestructable. Their shingles are made from recycled material.

Cedar shake roofing is a traditional type of a roof building material that has been used for hundreds of years. It comes in two varieties, shingles and shakes. A shake is much thicker than a shingle and is split to reveal the uneven natural grain of the wood on the face.
